Scorecard

Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club 2nd XI v Woodford Wells CC (45/45) on Sat 23 Jul 2016 at 1pm
Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club Won

Match report The Super 2's gave the most professional performance of the season to open up a 15 point gap on second place Chelmsford. Made to bowl in sweltering heat, James Fitzgerald & Nabeel Aziz complimented each other well and had the Wells 38 for 5 off 14 overs. The experienced middle order provided a challenge to the bowling unit but a good spell by Ismael Dar, who is proving his worth as an all-rounder, and Misem Ali managed to grind the Wells down to 169 all out.

Wanstead's batsmen were assisted by loose bowling at the start of their innings but nonetheless showed great attacking force with Mahesh Velani showing his striking skills, hitting a quick-fire 47 with the Herons reaching 100 off 11 overs. Adam Lord showed great maturity as he took wanstead over the line and ended on 32 not out.

Wides still prevalent but the attitude was top drawer. Six games to go...
