2004

  • 2nd and 3rd teams win their leagues, and the 1st team are runners-up
  • Arif Saeed, with 43 wickets, is the league's leading wicket taker
  • Tony Palladino represents Essex CC
  • Tony Palladino, Arfan Akram and Adnan Akram represent Cambridge UCCE
  • All 5 XIs retain their league status, with the 1st 4 teams in Premier Leagues

  • 5th XI make league debut, and the 1st 4 teams retain Premier League status
  • Tony Palladino plays for Essex
  • Tony Palladino, Arfan Akram and Adnan Akram represent Cambridge UCCE
  • Tony Palladino, Arfan Akram, Danny Walters and Adnan Akram represent Essex Cricket Board
  • Five Wanstead players in the 1st intake of the Essex academy
 

2002

  • Third XI runaway winners of their league, while all four XIs remain in their Premier divisions.  First XI are 2nd, Seconds are 3rd, and Fourths are 3rd (confused? so am I)
  • Mo Fayaaz and Alex Richards selected for Essex Crick Board
  • Alex Richards ends league season with average of 163.33: click here if you don't believe it.
  • Rob McKay leads the Premier League with 11 catches.

2001

  • The four seniors teams are respectively 2nd, 1st, 1st and 2nd in The Shepherd Neame Essex League
  • Wanstead win the Evening Standard Challenge Trophy at the Oval
  • Wanstead win Essex indoor championship and qualify for national rounds
  • James Foster tours West Indies with England A
  • James Foster plays for England in Zimbabwe
  • James Foster makes Test debut

2000

  • Alex Richards and Arif Saeed play for Essex CB against Warwickshire in the Natwest Trophy
  • Ist XI league champions by a record margin
  • 2nd XI league champions
  • 3rd and 4th XIs respectively 3rd and 2nd in their leagues
  • Arif Saeed - July award for top 1st X1 wicket taker in the league (19 wkts)
  • John Chambers - May award for top 1st X1 run scorer in the league (390)
  • John Chambers ended the season with the highest aggregate of runs in the premier league.  This total, 944, constitutes a Wanstead record as well as being the 5th highest in the history of the Essex league
  • Arif Saeed 3rd in the premier league wicket takers for the year (41) followed by Mo Fayyaz, 4th (40)

1999

  • James Foster played 3 tests for England U19
  • Alex Richards opened the batting for England ECB XI
  • 1st XI finished 3rd in the Essex Premier League
  • 1st XI reached the semi-final of Evening Standard Cup
  • Arif Saeed plays for Essex CB in the Natwest Trophy
