Match report The deciding match in the E20 Conference started with Wanstead winning the toss and electing to bat. Waseem and Feroze took the total to a respectable 50 for no loss in the powerplay against the best bowling we have faced this year. Waseem fell for 27 in the 8th over and Saurav joined Feroze. Together they rotated the strike well until Feroze was stumped in the 10th with the score on 71. A stand of 49 between Saurav and Misem saw Wanstead reach 120 in the 16th over in which both promptly perished, setting the scene for our trio of practiced finishers. A further 43 runs came from the death overs thanks principally to muscular contributions from Jayden (inevitably!) with 17 off 9 and Jack with 18 off 12. Batting honours on this occasion go to Saurav who looked very comfortable at 3, managing to score off 71% of the deliveries he faced to rotate the strike in an exemplerary fashion.

Nabeel took the new ball and made an early breakthrough with Aryan taking a sharp stumping off the 4th delivery. Supported by Jack with an lbw in the 4th over, a superb return from the deep by Jayden running out the oppositions premier batsman and a miserly single from Saurav's first over, Wanstead limited West Ham to 36 for 3 from the powerplay. The starting rate of 8.3 had become 9.3 an over, a figure that was reached only twice in the remaining 14 overs as the opposition were bowled out for 109 in the 20th over.

With 6 out of 6 wins, Wanstead qualify in first place with West Ham and Stratford in second. This gives us a good chance of a home quarter final when the draw is made on the 24th of August. A teamsheet will be posted as soon I know the date of the match.
