Match report Moyes' campaign is up and running and you could feel the tension ease away as Sangakarra hit the winning boundary!!

Moyes was inspirational from the off, winning the toss and bowling on what looked like a portion of the A12 had been dropped in to Overton Drive. The bowling unit toiled away to great effect, restricting the opposition to 198-9 from their 52 overs (3.8rpo). A kitted out Moeen (modelling contract is now on the table from the Chairman) demonstrated good control, with figures of 11-2-24-1. There was also an encouraging 2XI debut from M.Ali Syed Zaidi who bowled with good energy and disciplined lines. Sanga even caught one in the slips so we always knew it would be our day.

In reply, Mahesh (again) produced some counter-attacking cricket, even before the initial attack was launched by the opposition (41 of 5 overs)! After Mahesh fell, Izzy stopped watching from the non-strikers end and decided to get in on the action and played a well measured knock, stepping through the gears foran unbeaten 90 ball 85. He was joined by Milan (Gerrard) Patel who scored his first 50 in 28 months.

A great performance with 6 jug ball shouts leading to some very sore heads in the morning!!
